THE STORY OF NEW COVENANT COMMUNITY CHURCH &
CAWOOD CHURCH OF GOD.
"A Match Made in Heaven"
On August 20, 2014, there was a marriage ceremony held that couldn’t be any more perfect. New Covenant Community Church and Cawood Church of God merged their congregations into one to form New Covenant-Cawood Church of God. NCCC was planted by pastors John and Leighann Carter in November, 2008, with 18 charter members, in a former dancing lounge a mile outside of Cawood. Over the course of nearly 6 years, the church grew and was averaging 130 prior to the merge.
Since merging with Cawood Church of God, a staple church in Harlan County since its inception in 1927, the church is experiencing not only growth numerically and financially, but best of all…SPIRITUALLY! The church has conducted (and is continually conducting) 24/7 prayer services where the church is open for 7 days, around the clock, doors unlocked, with someone there at all times praying. On Sunday, January 4, 2016, the church was beginning their third annual “21 Day Fast” when nothing short of Heaven-sent revival broke forth in their noon worship service. A “suddenly” revival is on-going. Anyone who may have doubted that a church merge could work, needs to simply note the Spiritual results that have been experienced at New Covenant Church (TO GOD BE ALL HONOR AND PRAISE), and realize that this was truly a match made in Heaven. THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING!
